When Laine filed suit against her daughter, claiming that Vanessa had forced her out of her home and taken back a vehicle donated to her by Kobe Bryant, the suit was dismissed.
Jay-Z said “nobody wins when the family feuds,” but unfortunately, Vanessa Bryant and her mother have been at odds in court, which means neither party wins in this family battle.
At the end of last year, Kobe Bryant's widow, Vanessa, came under scrutiny after Laine, one of the former couple's domestic partners, publicly accused her of kicking Laine out of the house and taking back a vehicle that was provided to her by the deceased basketball player. After airing out her family's dirty laundry on television, Laine went on to initiate a lawsuit against her daughter.
The grandmother has alleged that before to his passing, Kobe promised to take care of his mother-in-law for the rest of her life and that he employed her as a nanny at $96 per hour.
“All I wanted is what I worked for,” Laine previously said. “Vanessa, despite everything that I have been promised and done for her and the family, has attempted to sever all ties and renege on all obligations and agreements. Why would she do this to her own mother? I am so disappointed, hurt, and wronged to the point that I had no choice but to file a lawsuit.”
On Thursday (August 5), TMZ reported that Laine and Vanessa agreed to resolve their feud out of court. Vanessa insisted that Kobe had not promised anything to Laine and disputed her mother's allegation that she was an assistant or nanny.
The case has now been closed, but the terms were not made public.
