“Sarkodie – Otan” is a piece by Sarkodie, a renowned Ghanaian rapper, songwriter, and entrepreneur. Born Michael Owusu Addo on July 10, 1988, Sarkodie hails from Tema, Ghana. He began rapping at a young age and has since become a prominent figure in the Ghanaian and global music industry.
Sarkodie's music spans various genres including Hip Hop, Hiplife, and Afrobeats. He often raps in his native language, Twi, and his contributions to the Ghanaian music industry have earned him numerous accolades. For instance, he has received 110 awards from 206 nominations, including 28 Ghana Music Awards.
His debut studio album, “Makye”, won him three awards at both the 4syte TV Music Video Awards and Ghana Music Awards. His second studio album, “Rapperholic”, also received several awards. Sarkodie's music has not only been influential in Ghana but also helped popularize the Azonto, a Ghanaian dance craze.
